Campbeltown Brass

Ewan Bannatyne    EEb Bass

Ewan Bannatyne started playing EEb Bass at the tender age of 8. Before that he had established the basics of the euphonium, from the teachings of Gordon Evans. In 2000, he was promoted into Campbeltown Brass and received help from fellow "EEb tubaists", such as Willie Ralston and Brendan Campbell.

He has won many trophies, such as the local Campbeltown Brass trophy, Mid-Argyll Music Festival cup and the West of Scotland trophy.

Currently, Ewan is 14 years old and is enjoying life as Principal EEb Bass in Campbeltown Brass as well as the NYBBS courses each summer with the various tutors.

Best banding moment: Receiving Reserve NYBBS 'Most Improved Player' trophy in 2001.
Worst banding moment: Getting nowhere in this years Area!
Best or most satisfying playing experience: Playing in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with NYBBS in 2004.
Favourite drink: Irn-Bru.
Favourite food: Chocolate.
Favourite film: Rangers 9 in a Row!
