Campbeltown Brass Beginners

This keen bunch of young players, taught by Andy Oliver and Ricky Evans, have only been playing a matter of months and already they are showing signs of becoming future stars! We provide tuition for kids who are keen to play a brass instrument, and who are also keen to put in some hard work learning their new hobby. At the end of the day, its an enjoyable experience for them, learning to play music and making new friends. Starting off with the basics, Andy teaches them the simple notes and rhythms, so they can get started onto some ensemble work.

From there they move onto lessons with Ricky, where they get a more structured teaching, with more complex rhythms and theory, bringing them up to the standard to join the Youth Band. Although space at Campbeltown's Community Centre, where we practice is limited, we just about manage to find somewhere for everyone to squeeze in for lessons! There are certainly plenty of characters coming through, which always raises a few laughs every week and keeps both Andy and Ricky on their toes!!
