Sunday 21st August - Il Brasso at Survivors Night
The Mull of Kintyre Music Festival is an annual event which continues to attract artists from all over. This year the Festival has once again secured a great line-up of Scottish and international acts.
As part of the Festival, Campbeltown Brass will be holding a coffee morning at Kirk Street Hall with performances from the Band. In the afternoon, the Band will be joining the traditional Festival Parade in the town and to finish it off - Il Brasso will be playing at Survivors Night! It promises to be a great weekend!
Please come and support us at these events.
The Senior Band will be playing at the MOK Run this Sunday. Please be at the Heritage Centre at 10.30am.
Uniform will be black poloshirts and jeans, and remember to bring your music with you!
The band is pleased to announce that its annual beginners workshop will once again take place this July. The workshops have been vital in ensuring the future of the band, having introduced many players to brass instruments including 14 members of the current band! This year, workshops will run from 19 – 21 July and 26 – 28 July in the Community Centre from 10am until 12pm each day. If you know anyone (from around age 8 to age 93) who might be interested, please send them along!
Congratulations to Julie Flaws - the winner of the anagram competition.
5th June - the senior band was invited to record with the BBC in City Hall, Glasgow as part of their festival of Light Music. The piece recorded was Cornet Carillon, by Ronald Binge and it was broadcast on Radio 3 on 20th June.
9th June - Another successful event and great to see such a large support there. Thank you to everyone who came.
St Andrews, Fife
The NYBBS was formed in 1958 and has built up an excellent reputation for high quality tuition and performance. The main emphasis of the course is on education and improving overall standards, but this is done without detracting from the single most important element of music - enjoyment.
This year a number of Campbeltown Brass members will be attending this exciting course and we look forward to hearing their experiences.
Well done to all our soloist and of course to the Junior band! It was a very entertaining evening and really showed off the amount of amazing talent we have in such a small area as Kintyre.
Well done to everyone who took part in the Music Festival! Congratulations to those who won - please feel free to post your results in the Members page.
