Music connects us

Today marks the 75th anniversary since the guns fell silent at the end of the Second World War in Europe. As we celebrate VE Day, we also remember the lives lost to coronavirus.

We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well during these difficult and challenging times. As you know, the band is more than just coming together for rehearsals, it has been a place for socialising and being with friends and family. So, I am sure we have all missed our times together.

Music connects us and studies suggest that listening to music can have the following positive effects on health - improves mood, reduces stress, lessens anxiety, provides comfort, improves memory and much more. With this in mind, we would like to create an opportunity of ‘coming together’, virtually, to spread some joy and also to fundraise for Shopper-Aide, who have been doing a fantastic job in delivering much needed supplies to those who are most vulnerable in our community.

We would like to propose that band members send in videos of them playing something that they have been working on or have been playing. For every video we put on the band page, the band will make a donation to Shopper-Aide. There is also a prize draw for a senior and junior player. Every player taking part will be entered into the draw.

To start us off, we have some ‘oldies’ experimenting with the technology. Hopefully, with some tweaking and adjustments, we’ll improve and do more. We also aim to have a full band video, so that everyone can take part.

Any questions, please contact us.
