Saturday 11th March 2017
Congratulations to Amy Paterson for winning Best Instrumentalist! A very respectable 6th place for the band, competing in their first competition at Second Section. Well done everyone! It is safe to say that Campbeltown Brass must be the only band in the Second Section, in fact in any Section, where 17 of the 26 players on stage that day were all under 18! With the Best Instrumentalist won by a 15 year old. We are very proud of their achievements.
Band's Solo & Ensemble Competition
Saturday 19th March 2017
About 35 band members competed in the band's Annual competition today. It was a fantastic and inspiring showcase of the talent we have in Campbeltown. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who took part. Our thanks to the Seafield Hotel, Accompanists David McEwan and Cath Black and last but not least, it was a delight to welcome home Erin McSporran, ex-band member and Adjudicator for the day. Thank you also to friends and family who came along to support this event and to all the members of the band who help teach the younger players. Bravo!

Fond Farewells
September 2017
Owen joined the band back in 2009 when he was still wee. He has put his heart and soul into perfecting his craft and contributed to the many successes of the band, for this, we are very grateful. Gavin has only been with us for a short while but his contributions and what he brought to the band is very much appreciated. We wish them all the best with their studies and banding. Hopefully, they will be able to play with us again. Thank you guys! We wish them all the best at Kirkintilloch Band. We also say farewell to another star – Emma Bannatyne from the Bannatyne Dynasty of exceptional players! Emma also joined the band at a young age and followed in the footsteps of her brothers Ewan and Greg, playing some wonderful solos. She will be sorely missed. Emma is studying music at the Conservatoire and we wish her every success!
Fife Charities Contest

Under the baton of Guest Conductor Paul Kiernan, it was a satisfying result for Campbeltown. First in their Section, 9th overall in the Open and an amazing 2nd in the Hymn Tune. We wish to thank Paul for all his hard work over the last few weeks and his directorial input was very much appreciated. Well done to all the players, especially Hannah McCaig, on her Senior competition debut.

Workshop with Peter Moore
28th November 2017
We wish to say a huge thank you to Peter Moore for spending yesterday working with our Junior & Senior Bands. A great inspiration for our youngsters and seniors alike. This evening, it was a joy to listen to Peter's excellent performance, accompanied by an equally talented Richard Uttley at the Kintyre Music Club Concert and the Band were delighted to open the concert for him.
