We hope everyone is keeping safe and well! Indeed, we have been living in challenging and uncertain times, and this pandemic has really shown us, among other things, how much we need human interactions. Banding thrives on people coming together – to make music, to be inspired, to have fun and of course to have a blether . We hope we will be able to do so again soon, but in the meantime make use of our online rehearsals and activities and be connected with the band.
After the summer we will be saying farewell to two of our players Andrew McMillan and Caius Walker. Caius joined the band in 2010 and Andrew the following year. This photo was taken at the Mid Argyll competition in 2014 and over the years, they have competed in many solo and ensemble competitions. However, like many of our players before them, they have to leave town to further their education and begin a new chapter in their lives. Andrew, (principal horn), will be studying music at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Caius (trombone) will be studying Computer Games Technology at Abertay University. We wish them both all the best in their studies and a bright future ahead. Remember to visit us when you are home from uni…I’m sure we can find an instrument for you to join in!
